The consumer price index (CPI) soared by 4.75% in September, month-over-month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
Thus, the 3-month hike exceeded 25%, while the 9-month and annual increase reached 50% and 61.53%, respectively, last month.
The 12-month increase in core inflation exceeded the headline inflation at 68.93%.
Prices rose by 30.27% in the education group, while food, transportation, housing, and education groups contributed most to inflation.
The increase in FX rates and energy prices will raise the inflationary pressure in the upcoming period, in line with expectations.
The domestic producer price index (D-PPI) increased by 3.40% monthly and 47.44% annually in September.
The difference between CPI and D-PPI rose to 14.1 points last month.
