The U.S.-based Amazon inaugurated its 250th and first fulfillment center in Turkey with over USD 100m investment.
Parliamentary Industry, Commerce, Energy, Natural Resources, Information, and Technology Commission Head Mustafa Varank, Presidential Investment Office President Ahmet Burak Daglioglu, Industry and Technology Deputy Minister Zekeriya Costu, and Amazon’s Vice President for Europe and North America Customer Fulfillment and Global Operation Services Stefano Perego were among the names attended the inauguration ceremony.
“So far, we have invested over TRY 5.2bn in Turkey and employed over 1,000 people,” Perego said.
The company invested TRY 3.4bn of that figure in Turkey alone in 2022.
The center, which also offers storage services to Amazon customers, processes over 1 million products in a 35,000-product range with technological infrastructure. It also employs 800 people in 60 different roles.
