U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 39%, the lowest level of his current term, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The three-day survey, which ended Sunday, shows a drop from 41% in early December, reflecting voter dissatisfaction with the Republican Party’s handling of the economy.
Trump returned to office in January with 47% support, but his popularity has declined, particularly over economic management. Only 33% of U.S. adults approve of how he is handling the economy, his lowest score on the issue this year.
Economists point to a slowdown in hiring, partly due to shocks linked to Trump’s import tariffs, while a recent government shutdown disrupted economic data collection.
