Turkish consumers’ confidence in the economy continued to deteriorate in July. Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced the consumer confidence index data for July. Accordingly, the seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index, calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with TurkStat and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, decreased by 3.1 percent in July compared to June. The index, which was 78.3 last month, fell to 75.9 this month.
The index for the household’s financial situation in the current period, which was 63.8 in June, decreased by 5.4 percent to 60.4 in July.
The household financial situation expectation index for the next 12 months, which was 79.2 in June, decreased by 4.2 percent to 75.9 this month.
The general economic situation expectation index for the next 12 months, which was 76.1 last month, decreased by 7 percent to 70.8 this month.
The index of the intention to spend on durable consumer goods in the next 12 months increased by 2.6 percent to 96.5 in July from 94 in June.
