Home sales across Turkey fell 7.8% from a year earlier in November to 141,100 homes, marking the lowest level since June, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
Istanbul recorded the highest number of sales with 24,234 homes, followed by Ankara and Izmir, while Ardahan, Bayburt and Artvin saw the lowest figures.
Despite the monthly decline, total home sales rose 13.3% in the January – November period to 1.43 million homes.
Mortgage backed home sales declined slightly in November to 21,499 homes, accounting for 15.2% of total sales. In the first eleven months of the year, mortgage backed sales jumped 53.5% from a year earlier to 207,519 homes.
First hand home sales fell 5.4% to 46,589 homes, while second hand sales dropped 8.9% to 94,511 homes.
Sales to foreign buyers fell 9.7% in November to 1,943 homes, with Russian nationals accounting for the largest share, followed by buyers from Ukraine and Germany.
